why 2014 was Victoria’s year

There’s no doubt in my mind that 2014 was Victoria Beckham’s year. Month after month Victoria was in the spotlight not for her personal life, but mainly for her work and humanitarian activities. Here’s a countdown of top reasons this was her year!

5) Victoria opened her new store in London, after a great increase in sales the previous months, creating a minimalistic space with no cash registers and she shocked everybody when she herself took the role of the sales assistant during her opening day.

4) one of the highlights of her year was definitely New York Fashion week where she presented her new clothes collection. Victoria made a move towards the U.S. market as many of her celebrity American friends already have worn her creations on red carpets.

3) Living proof that hard work, persistence and of course talent can pay off is what led to her winning “Best Brand” at the British Fashion Award this year! If you add to her year my two previous reasons you can easily understand why in her work life Victoria had her most productive year so far!

2) the biggest surprise was obviously seeing her husband’s Instagram photo with her smiling for the camera. The usually more “reserved” Victoria in a relaxed selfie was something most people had to see twice to believe!

1) Her UN speech has to be one of the strongest moments she had this year. As a Goodwill Ambassador she set some pretty tough goals and strongly support how important is for all women to provide for their children and how we can all help to that.

Useful apps for new bloggers

Did you know that kaysecrets is almost one year old?? I never thought I would continue sharing my thoughts Such a long time and obviously I couldn’t expect your support!

It is time to share now with all the new bloggers some very useful apps that every blogger should know about!

Social media

If or obvious reasons social media is a great weapon for a new blogger to become known, interact with others and advertise his blog. I use several social media platforms but the ones I find more useful are Bloglovin and Instagram! Although these are the ones I am mostly popular (fro some reason it’s twitter!) they are the most effective when it comes to finding new readers. Using the appropriate hashtags on Instagram and adding many new bloggers like myself on Bloglovin are quite effective I must say!

Polyvore

It has to be one of my favorite things the past few months! For me Polyvore is a game/tool/fashion expression/addiction../..!! I have a profile connected to my blog and I absolutely love creating new looks and sharing them with my followers. I also use my creations for my posts which is very useful since its quite expensive to buy all the products needed sometimes. So I can just create a look I would recommend even if I don’t have all the items in my closet currently!

L’oreal Makeup Genious

In the same spirit this amazing makeup app allows you to “try” different l’oreal products on your skin without leaving your house! Besides the fact that its fun it’s a great way of testing how all new makeup trends work on a regular woman and how many possibilities and options you can have with each product! It’s a great inspiration for beauty blog posts and its super easy!

The best present you can give : Donate your hair

It’s one of these times when you just have no words to express the greatness of some people’s soul. It’s just a few weeks away from Christmas and I have found the perfect gift we can all give to others: our hair.
Cancer is an aggressive disease that in its worse cases needs chemotherapy in order to be controlled. Most patients lose some or most of their hair during that period. Especially for women this can be extremely frustrating. In this difficult period all of us can help by donating our hair after a haircut for wigs from real hair to be made.
Synthetic wigs are quite affordable but don’t look natural so it is understood why women patients don’t prefer them. But wigs from natural hair obviously are more suitable and can help a woman (or a man, or a teenager) look and feel more normal and have something stable in their lives. Obviously this option is much more expensive than a synthetic wig, but if you could give to a cancer patient the joy of feeling normal and beautiful again wouldn’t you do it just by missing a few inches of your hair??

It is very simple to help. If your hair is healthy and you want to cut more than 7 inches then you can donate them and a wig will be created out of them! It is so simple and it can be your good deed this Christmas!!

It’s one of the first names that pop to your head when asked about fashion (it’s not just me,right?)! Im obviously talking about Nina Garcia! Her expertise and personal sense of style are impeccable and I trust her opinion when it comes to fashion advice! Nina’s writing is one of my fav and the stories she can tell  priceless!

There are several celebrities, fashion bloggers and IT girls that have published books in the past few years. Personally I really love Lauren’s books mainly cause they are fully illustrated- so you always get the picture! – but also due to her impeccable personal style. Absolutely adore her clothes line too so when it comes to chic casual I definitely trust her!

My Dukan diet part two

It’s been over a month since I finished phase 3 of Dukan’s diet and I’ve been in phase 4 ever since. It is the most loose and stress free phase cause you don’t really need to worry much about what you eat, provided that you avoid fried food or too much junk food. I can’t say that I felt hungry or any kind of food “withdrawal” all this time, nor gain any weight back! I’m pretty pleased with the results and every now and then I just have a protein-only day to keep my metabolism burning faster!
All and all I have to say that this is the best diet I’ve ever tried and I’m very happy I did it!
Definitely recommending this one!

Pantene expert collection review

It’s been a while since I gave you a product review. This time I spend a month testing the latest Pantene Pro V line. I have to say that although I’ve been using Panten’s products for many years and I was genuinely happy with them, this time is not the case. First of all I’m not very happy about the price: it is almost double than the rest of their lines. Of course we are talking about an exclusive line, especially designed to fit the standards of products you can find in beauty salons. But the results promised,in my case, where no where to be seen.
Let’s be completely honest, none of us expects the miracles promised in ads. But still you expect something..
I’m not saying it’s a bad product. I’m just saying that it is probably for only specific types of hair so be extra careful when buying it. My hair turned very difficult to brush and almost impossible to keep a hairstyle for more than a day.it was quite disappointing I’m afraid, and if you have long hair I wouldn’t recommend this line. Still, if Pantene comes up with multiple pro series, designed for different types of hair I will give it another go,as I have been satisfied by this brand in the past.

What about you girls? Have you tried it yet? I’d love to hear your own thoughts!
