It’s Autumn time! And what better way to celebrate this time but with amazing street style looks! It’s the perfect time to do Layers!
Although many of you ladies panic with the idea of doing layers, I have to tell you it’s the simplest thing ever!
The first thing you need to keep in mind is your comfort. When you layer your clothes you actually want to be prepared for the weather outside. Early in the morning and later in the evening it gets chilly but usually during noon the temperature rises a bit. So what you need to do is create a light base, like a skinny jeans and a light shirt, and accessorize appropriately: a cardigan or sweater,a bikers jacket and a long scarf. In this case once you feel hot it’ll be very easy to ” unload”!
The second thing you need to know is the color palette. It takes a lot of practice to mix and match colors and textures when layering so if you’re new at this try to keep it simple: play with colors you are comfortable with and add a small twist to spice things up!
Whatever you do don’t use only one color! Layering 5 black pieces in boring! Use black and white and add red details!
Layering isn’t just for pants! You can create layered looks with dresses and skirts and it’s actually much easier! Wear a sweater over your little black dress and create a more playful look!
Only few days ago I read about Jane Birkin’s demand to Hermes to remove her name from the iconic bag due to the cruel tactics used to slaughter crocodiles for the making of their bags. In the article there was also a reference to vegan leather goods and it got me thinking: what exactly is vegan leather? I mean,I understand that somehow it’s better than regular leather, but in what sense? So I’ve decided to look it up a bit!
The more I looked to it the more I got confused. On the one hand it is definitely better for the animals: vegan leather is basically a substitute- a faux leather in other words- so no animals killed there!
But for the buyers vegan leather goods can be quite harmful in some cases. The “leather” is made by PVC-based substances so in some cases it can potentially cause breathing problems and (the most disturbing fact) these substances are often accused to increase the possibility of cancer related diseases.
I really don’t know what to believe in this case,as it is a brand new market so more tests need to be conducted. All I know is there is room for improvements, which one day will allow us to stop using real leather! Surely hope this day comes soon!!
Oh it’s finally June everybody! May wasn’t my month (like,at all!) so I’m trying to work with whatever life brings me along the way..
Anyway, I have two more weeks of work and after that I’m planning on taking few days of and finally enjoy life! I absolutely love summer, mainly because the weather puts me in a more fashionable mood!
Dresses is my No1 choice (by faaaaarrrr!!) so this is the first thing I buy for summer and the first thing I grab from my closet!
I m totally in love with these two Zara dresses I bought last week and I feel they are the best for a morning look or a relaxed evening.
I do wear shorter dresses too if it’s very hot,but generally I prefer them for a more sexy and Vgirly evening look.
The obvious must have is the bikini! (Dah)
This season I’m all about color! Although usually much more conservative in going for bright colors this time as It would look insanely gorgeous when I’m tanned!
Now when you’re on vacation you spend a lot of time at the beach or by the pool. So your bag needs to fit all your stuff and some more! But you don’t want to bring 10 different bags for your trip, right? So one stylish big bag could do the trick: have it with you by the beach and still make it wearable for a nice summery relaxed evening look.
Every girl has a thing for brands. But we can’t all afford a luxurious couture wardrobe so IT girls gotta find another way to do so. For me it’s the outlet stores. I know I’ve mentioned this more than once but it’s a real treasure for me! The closet one is McArthurGlen in Athens so I’m a frequent there! My first stop is always the Ralph Lauren store.
For me it’s a small piece of heaven hidden just few minutes away from home! I absolutely adore their collection and although it’s an outlet I always find A-class quality items in reasonable prices.
It just ain’t! Period! My mum always complains about my shopping addiction with Zara, but I Just can’t help it! You know the thing is,when you find a brand that fits all your needs and standards you can’t just ignore it!
I have experimented a lot with commercial brands over the years and every now and then I find clothes that fit well and I can enjoy. But when it comes to shopping that depicts my style then Zara is always my first stop. 95% of my jeans and trousers come from Zara. I have a pear figure so their jeans fit perfectly even in size 34,which is a great boost for my confidence!
When it comes to professional looks this is also my choice,as I can afford quite a few blouses -especially on sales- and their jackets are amazing. My only complain is their bags’ quality,as in most cases it’s not comparable to the quality the rest of their products has. But I can live with that!

I know it’s not even May yet but I’ve always been in favor of planning in advance! Mid-season sales is also around the corner so I’m making my shopping list today!
First and most important purchase for summer is the playsuit. Ideally with prints or in denim! The most affordable playsuits I have in my list come from Forever21, Zara and H&M ! The price is also a plus and this way I can buy few playsuits and stock for summer!
After seeing how much you enjoyed this section I decided to include one more scenario today!
This time it’s time to dress to impress for a night out with the girls!
My main goal when going out with my friends is to feel comfortable in my clothes. You have to keep in mind that girls often feel threatened from one another so you don’t wanna look as if you were to steal your best friends boyfriend! You shouldn’t intimidate your friends (or them you as a matter of fact) but you have to stay true to your style too.
I usually avoid exaggeration and keep it simple yet eye-catching. Unless I go out with girls way taller than me I avoid high heels, choosing booties during winter and a nice pair of sandals for summer.
A nice pair of jeans, a plain white t shirt and a long jacket is all I need! Make sure you accessorize a bit to create a more glamorous look!
Since living in Greece summer is my time of a year! So obviously I feel so much better creating looks around this time. For a night out I definitely recommend a nice long dress with a belt to create a more sexy figure and of course a big clutch! Bracelets is the key for a look like that as you don’t really need much, especially if you wear a patterned dress and not a single colored.
