Stylists (not) needed

Yes, I get it why a Hollywood celebrity, a global pop singer or even I high profile politician might need a personal stylish.
But for the rest of us common people that might not be so necessary!

I have always found myself looking at magazines and complaining “why she looks so gorgeous and I can’t” or “if I had her assistants I would look as amazing as she does”, and I wasn’t really doing anything about it.
Obviously I never hired a stylist: I just became my personal one!

How to do it:

1)Do a research- look up in magazines or on line for the latest hair trends that match your skin tone.Remember, just because it looks good in Jennifer Lawrence it doesn’t mean it looks good on you too! Ask your hairstylist for a second opinion before you attempt a new hair color, especially if it’s too different than your original color.

2) Use makeup products that match your skin complexion and creates a natural look on you- no, we don’t want a mask effect for our makeup! Makeup is very important when creating a style. For me the simple yet elegant style is my personal choice: good makeup cover and some peach blush is my everyday choice. I don’t usually overdo it during daytime. For a night look I add black mascara and a dark brown eyeshadow- which is my signature eyeshadow!
3)Find clothes that match your body type and your figure! Hide imperfections and make sure you use your best features to your advantage. For example, I’m not quite tall so really long dresses usually make me look terrible. So I wear long dresses that are quite tight in the upper part of the body to make my figure look longer. Also, I wear high hills durning winter or wedges in summer.

4) Have a monthly budget for beauty and wardrobe. No need to spend a fortune at once- have a long term plan for your transformation and do some smart shopping. Buy key pieces that you can work with and create different looks with them. A selection of 2-3 different jeans is great for women under 40. Have a classic pair of dark blue skinny jeans and two more in different shades and shapes. Basic shirts, fashionable blouses and face fair jackets are great for this year.

5) accessorize!Even a plain white t shirt can be fashionable if you add to your look jewelry. Invest in some pieces that will put you in the spotlight for all the right reasons! ( you can check my statement jewelry post for inspiration!).

6) have the right attitude! If you believe it the rest of the world will too!
