The weekenders: traveling with style on a budget

Hey there darlings! What have you been up to? I’m getting ready for my first summer excursion (road trip! Heeeyyy!!) so as I was doing some packing I thought why not share it with ya! Summer is by far my favorite season for so many reasons. Although the busiest time at work I always put in good use my days off. This time we are heading to a nice village, 3h away from Athens, by the sea so there’s no need for heavy packing. The trick in these cases is to pack light but smart. Creating looks that are comfortable but still can put you in the spotlight!

All my fellow bag addicts will understand when I say that one bag is never enough! But when traveling, for my purse I go with the exact opposite than my regular bags :the smaller the better!! Tiny purses have been a must the past winter and – surprise surprise – it continues this summer too! I’m packing today 2 small Zara bags one black belt bag (who said black must be boring?!) and a yellow one, with colored strap!

No 1 essential piece for these types of trips is obviously the travel  bag. There’s no point on taking big heavy luggage, whether it’s a road trip or a boat trip. What you need is a practical bag that will fit all your necessities but won’t cost a fortune. My personal choice lately has been the MAHI leather duffle bag. It’s supper practical, doesn’t cost a fortune -although it’s high quality leather- and most importantly it is eye catching! It also supports FRANK water projects and an amount from each purchase goes to support them and provide fresh water to people in need.

Comfy shoes are a must when traveling but if you invest in a stylish piece you can easily create many different looks. I have my favorite Adidas Superstar always with me,as they still remain one of the best options for casual wear, but I also bought a great American Eagle Outfitters loafers pair in this fabulous beige that can give that extra something to the simplest look!

Even though I still think it’s too cold to go swimming one of the best ways to create a really stylish look is to use your swimsuit! I love one-pieces,not only for swimming but as tops too! I wear them with mum jeans or slouchy bermudas, even for a night out with a nice long lace skirt!! I have bought 2 one-pieces from Sugar Free during winter sales (cause obviously that is the best season to shop summer clothes!!) so now I’m packing both of them for my trip!!

Devil is in the details so I make sure I have enough accessories with me,not just jewelry but also scarves, hats and headbands. This time I’m taking with me a long white an blue scarf from Fransa and a tiny one from Zara, which I’ll use instead of a necklace and a headband!

Make sure you check my Instagram in the next few days to see all the looks from my road trip!!!
